A strong advocate of diversity and equal opportunity, Dozono is a respected business and civic leader throughout the state, devoting much of his time in service to the community. As co-chair of the International Air Service Committee, Dozono helped lead an aggressive marketing campaign that included advance commitments and pledges from local businesses in the form of a “travel bank” to secure non-stop service between Portland and Frankfurt, Tokyo and Amsterdam.
Dozono continues his work on behalf of the local and global community, and has been recognized for his efforts from Mercy Corps, Basic Rights Oregon, receiving the Torchbearer Award, the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Award, and many others.
Dozono was born in Japan and emigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 10. He and his wife, Loen have been married for 37 years and have raised five children.
