You should have worked much harder to promote the Lufthansa service from PDX.  Oregon has a much closer economic tie to Germany than NL.  Lufthansa service as well to being superior to the sub-standard DL 767-300 offered aprox 3x as more onward connections to important commercial markets from/to PDX.

Narita service is important, but more options to rest of Asia from Seattle.
