7 Productive Things to Do on a Nonstop Flight

Eye mask? Check. Magazines? Check. Neck pillow? Check. You are packed and ready to go with everything you think you may need for your nonstop flight to Tokyo or Amsterdam! While you are so happy not to have to get off the plane on your way to your destination, there is still the matter of the number of hours you will be in flight. You may opt to read and sleep as much as possible, but in case you toss and turn and can’t sleep, here are seven things you can do to keep yourself busy and be productive!

1. Edit Your Photos

Remember all those photos that have been piling up on your laptop? Now is the perfect time to lose yourself in organizing them, deleting what you don’t want, and editing the ones you want to keep.

2. Write Thank You Cards

The art of thank you cards is not dead, nor should it be! Take a stack with you and write out those meaningful thank you’s by hand.

3. Movies, TV Shows, and Books

Ensure you’ve loaded up all your electronics with music, TV shows, movies and e-books! Bonus: make sure they’re fully charged – nothing like starting a movie and having your iPad die halfway through.

4. Audiobook + Coloring Book

Intricate coloring books have become very popular. Grab one from Powell’s Bookstore, pack some colors pencils and enjoy a coloring book while listening to a new audiobook or podcast.

5. Bulk Write Blog Posts

Whether you’ve always wanted to start a blog or already have one, this is the perfect opportunity to sit down and write your heart out.

6. Play a Water Drinking Game with Yourself

We are always told to drink as much water as possible when flying. Make a game of it and set an alarm to down a glass of water every hour, on the hour. It actually helps the time pass by, and you stay hydrated and notably happier.

7. Learn a New Language

Download the Duolingo app, which hosts a slew of languages, and practice, practice, practice.
