Oregon Loves Nonstops
Oregon enjoys many advantages of being located on the Pacific Rim, with excellent trade routes via road, rail, river and runway.
Having international air service to Japan and Europe is critical to Oregon’s economy. For every Oregon business, nonstop flights are valued as they work to grow and sell their products abroad.
As Governor I traveled on the inaugural flight to Amsterdam last year, using this nonstop flight and also the flight to Tokyo to foster business relationships that attract jobs to Oregon. And continuing these flights is important for maintaining these relationships and retaining these jobs.
Our state enjoys dozens of ties to Japanese businesses and is growing our ties to Europe as shown by the many renewable energy power companies now doing business in Oregon. Nonstop flights also make Oregon more attractive to international companies looking for a U.S. headquarters location.
These flights are tickets to a stronger economy and a better Oregon.
